How to Control Floods In India

Every year there are floods in India, which cause loss of properties and lives. These can be controlled by connecting North Indian rivers with South Indian rivers through canals. Each canal should be wide and deep enough, so that two boats, carrying 5000 MT goods, can cross each other. These boats shall be wind powered or solar powered. There shall be unloading places at regular intervals along each canal. Farmers should get water to irrigate their Lands at nominal rates. This will help fish farming and improve the economy of rural India. Money can be made available from the World Bank and/or Asian Development Bank at low rates. Huge amounts of monies will be involved in these projects; so corruption shall have to be strictly controlled.
